MEET RICHARD & RALPH

Hi, I’m Richard, the owner of Goodhand Pet Care — and Ralph is my Cavapoo, regular walking companion and occasional assistant!

I look after a lovely group of regular dogs and pets across Ipswich, Woodbridge and the surrounding area. Some enjoy the company and fun of a small group walk, while others are happier with a quieter solo walk or a visit in their own home. I get to know each of them individually and make sure the care I provide works for them.

I know how important it is to trust the person looking after your pet. I keep owners informed, communicate openly and treat every animal in my care as I’d want Ralph to be treated.

SERVICES

GROUP WALKS

Small group walks with dogs I know well and know are comfortable together. I keep the groups manageable and put a lot of thought into which dogs will enjoy walking together. Most of my walks take place away from the roads, exploring the woods, heathland, countryside and parks around Ipswich and Woodbridge.

SOLO WALKS

For dogs who are happier walking on their own, need a little more individual attention, or simply aren’t suited to a group. Walks are adapted to the individual dog rather than following a set routine.

PET VISITS

Home visits for dogs, cats and other small pets. These can include feeding, toilet breaks, medication where agreed, play, company and generally making sure everything is OK while you’re out or away.

OVERNIGHT PET SITTING

I also offer overnight pet sitting in your own home, giving your pets company and keeping them in their familiar surroundings while you’re away. Overnight stays are subject to availability.

AMBROSE

Richard has been walking our dog, Ambrose, for the past year. With two small children, we don’t always find the time that we would like to walk Ambrose properly. Richard has been the answer to our prayers. He collects Ambrose directly from our house and takes him on the long country walks that Ambrose both needs and enjoys; in the woodlands and heaths around Woodbridge.

Ambrose can be a handful at times, but he behaves beautifully for Richard, walking with ’the pack’. When Richard opens the door in the morning, Ambrose always comes running with his tail wagging, ready to hop in the van and go on his big adventure. At the end of the walk, when he comes back, we know he has been fully exercised and socialised and can sleep contentedly in the afternoon.

Richard is very well organised and easy to communicate with. He lets us know when he will collect the dog, he looks out for their welfare on hot days, and treats him in all ways like his own pet. It’s no surprise that Ambrose loves him as much as he does. For our money, Richard provides the best service in Woodbridge. Our family wouldn’t operate without him. Neither we nor Ambrose could recommend him more highly.

SLINKY

Richard has been walking our Goldendoodle, Slinky, several times a week for almost a year now, and it is genuinely the highlight of Slinky’s day! He absolutely adores Richard and gets ridiculously excited when he arrives to collect him.

The walks are always varied, in beautiful spots around Ipswich and Woodbridge, and we love that Slinky gets to head off with a little pack of other friendly dogs. He comes home happy, exercised and thoroughly content. Richard also often shares photos and videos of his time out walking with the dogs.

Richard himself is friendly, easy-going, flexible, caring and completely professional. We trust him implicitly with Slinky and couldn’t be happier with the service he provides.
